4/14/15 - Frederick Folkerts, 76, survived World War II as a child with his mother Martha after the Nazi SS forced his father Friedrich to fight for Germany under Adolph Hitler's rule. 04/16/15- E.M. Holt firefighters extinguish hot spots while working the scene of a fully-engulfed structure at 1348 Monore-Holt Road in Burlington, N.C. Multiple fire departments responded to the scene including Elon Fire Department, E.M. Fire Department and Swepsonville Volunteer Fire Department. The structure was unoccupied at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

04/17/15- Laughs, shouts and an explosion of color pierced the air at Speaker’s Corner when more than 150 students gathered on April 17 for Elon University’s fourth annual “Holi, Festival of Colors” honoring the Hindu Holi festival that takes place primarily in India every year on the first full moon day in March to celebrate and usher in the spring . 04/18/15- Every year autistic children and adults come from all over with their families to a safe haven nestled away in Caswell County. Therrel Brown and his wife Marie have been hosting “Fun on the farm” for 13 years and they have seen the attendance jump from under 100 people to well over 700 people who come to enjoy country fun including hayrides, horseback riding, and live entertainment. Exhibitions with information on autism and were also available. The free event was sponsored by The A-O Civitans and community volunteers were on hand to help out with the festivities. 04/18/15- Angela Corbett of Graham rocks her son Christian, 11, in a hammock during festivities at ‘Fun on The Farm’, an annual free event for autistic community members and their families in Caswell County on April 18.
